Consistently good food at a good price. Service is also good. Dishes I have enjoyed are the pad thai and pad kee mao. Outdoor seating to people watch on Michigan Avenue.

Great spot for lunch! Very affordable, the restaurant was pretty quiet and empty (unfortunately). The crab rangoon was super crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. Avocado in my sushi was ripe. Thanks!
I ordered takeout and was pleased with the quality of the food. The rangoon arrived warm and crispy, and the rolls were chilled. The sushi was excellent, and the crab rangoon were crispy and crunchy, made just the way I like it.

Hoy Woks Cool Sushi is a consistently solid restaurant. I've been here numerous times and the food is very flavorful. This time, I had the chicken bento box which provides a nice variety of food, including miso soup, a salad, shrimp & vegetable tempura, California sushi rolls, and teriyaki chicken. It was actually the first time I've tried sushi, and it was surprisingly good. The food was a generous portion for a very fair price. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is always very clean and presentable. There's outside seating as well, but many people choose carry-out here.
The woks here are hot, and the sushi is cool. The dining area is somewhat small, but on a Monday evening, there was no problem finding a table. We've been to the Hot Woks Cool Sushi location closer north, and the menu appears very similar. I'm a huge fan of variety, and ended up with the chicken bento box. It was really good, and had the right amount of california rolls, chicken, rice, and salad. Top-notch service, company, and experience. I recommend this place.
I've had Hot Woks many times- both for take out and dine in. Overall, the place is pretty good. I really love the bento box option- you get so much food for a great price. While I think Hot Woks is good; I don't think it's outstanding and consistent. There's been a few occasions where my food hasn't been the best, or dine in service was slow. However, other times the food was amazing and service incredible as well. I'd like to see more consistency from HotWoks and that's what I really think is missing!
